British newspaper caught in copyright infringement storm

The British Journal of Photography reports that the Daily Mail has reaffirmed it doesn’t infringe on photographers’ copyright after it used four images originally posted on TwitPic and Flickr without their owners’ authorisations.

To quote from the article, ‘the Daily Mail has moved to reaffirm that it was not the newspaper’s policy “to breach photographers’ copyrights”‘ – which is not the same as “it doesn’t infringe on photographer’s copyright”.
